The full wedding party at Lovedale Chapel and Reception by Adam West Photography.

The booking process.

One.

Complete the ‘Wedding Enquiry Form’ on my website. Theres a link to that below!

Two.

I'll send you a formal quote as well as my standard wedding contract for you to review.

I'll answer any questions you may have and if you'd like book me, click ACCEPT on the quote.

Three.

The quote then becomes an INVOICE consisting of staggered payments leading up to your wedding day.

Pay the first instalment which is a non-refundable retainer, equal to 30% of your package price and sign the contract.

Then I’m all yours. I’m locked in for your date!

Hold on! Lets back-up a little.

Do you want to meet with me before you decide to book? If so, that's great!

I prefer to chat face-to-face where possible, usually in a good cafe.

This allows you to know more about me and my process, and decide if we’d make a great ‘team’ on your wedding day.

If you'd prefer to have a chat over the phone, that's OK too.

Once you've booked me.

I'll send you my questionnaire for you to complete during the lead-up to your wedding, It'll be a WIP and will always be available in your customer portal, to add to as information comes to hand.

We'll keep in touch over time and if practical, I'll catch-up with you at your venue, preferably during your meeting with your co-ordinator.

I'll create a photography timeline factoring in everyones requirements and the next time we meet will be on your wedding day. ✨

FAQs.

What is your photography style?

I shoot in a predominantly photojournalistic style, however there will be times when I do need to offer a little direction to get the shots you want.
For example; during your ceremony, I'll work as discretely as possible. However with your couple photos, I do offer initial posing guidance as a starting point for more natural moments that will follow.

Will YOU be the photographer on the day of our wedding?

Yes! I will be your photographer.
I don’t double-book wedding days use sub-contracted photographers.
I take the photos and edit the images. It's all me!

Can you tailor a custom a package?

Yes, of course!
Once I find out your provisional wedding timeline I can provide you with a photography package that suits your needs.

Can I add additional hours on the day of my Wedding?

On your wedding day, I always arrive early at the starting location; usually 30+ minutes earlier than my scheduled start time. This allows me to meet everyone, check out how things are flowing so far, and make adjustments to my shot plans if required. I do not charge for this extra time.

Adding extra hours to your photo coverage ‘on the day’ is not something that I usually do. I prefer to workout a realistic photography time-line for your wedding and create the appropriate photography package for you.

Will you provide some input regarding our wedding day time-line?

I sure will. I won’t plan your day 100 percent around photography but I will let you know how much time is ‘ideal’ for key stages of the day.

It’s helpful to have a discussion with me before you book your ceremony time, though at the end of the day, I'll work around any stages of your wedding that are already locked in to a schedule.
Once I know your wedding date and where your ceremony and reception will be held, I can work out a draft photography time-line, which we'll fine tune as your day draws closer.

There will be a few time sensitive parts of the day where we need to stick to a photography schedule but outside of those moments, I like to just go with the flow!

Can we give you a shot list?

Shot lists are beneficial, but only for the formal family photos that are taken immediately after the ceremony. This shot list helps these photos run efficiently. It’s best to task a friend to hold this list and call out the names of the people required for each photo.
As for the rest of the day, we will discuss any special shots that you might like, but I won’t follow an 'exact' 'style' or pose sheet such a favourites list from Pinterest. Introducing a rigid shot list can really stifle creativity and productivity if we are having to tick specific boxes throughout the day. Outside of the formal family photos, the day needs to flow naturally and be a record of your day, not a clone of someone else's.

Do you include engagement photos in your packages?

I do offer engagement shoots as an add-on to any Wedding Photography package.

Do you offer a photo booth, content creation or videography?

No sorry. I prefer to concentrate on delivering an excellent photographic documentary of your day, and not let anything jeopardise that.
My personal belief is that each wedding vendor should be exceptional at their respective niche not a ‘jack of all trades’.
I can however, recommend a fantastic videographer, should you need one.

Can you supply our photos with a look or colour palette that we have seen elsewhere?

I respectfully say ‘no’.
The style and colour palette of images I supply will be the same as the images on my 'Weddings' page.
My artistic perspective of the events I capture is reflected in my particular image style.
There is a current trend, to desaturate greenery in colour photos to drab brown, and drag highlights in black and white photos down to an extreme 'under-exposed' look.
Many trending ‘image pre-sets’ will date, and in years to come we’ll be wondering why they were a trend at all!

How many photos do you supply and what is the image file and delivery format?

As a guide, I supply you with 90+ edited images for every hour that I am formally booked. So if you book me for 10 hours, I will supply you at least 900 edited images (or more). I work to the ethos that quality trumps quantity.
Images are recorded to my camera as a RAW file. I then edit the RAW images in software, applying my ‘look’ and adjusting the exposure where required.
The RAWs are then converted to lossless Jpegs; a file format that can be shared online or used to create tangible prints and albums.
All images are delivered via a private online gallery and can be downloaded in full resolution for printing and low resolution for your socials.
I don’t supply RAW format.

What is the difference between editing and retouching?

We have to revisit the ‘RAW’ format thing.
The images recorded in camera are ‘RAW’ format. A RAW image is like a digital ‘negative’ that contains as much detail as possible in the shadows, right through to the highlights (just like negative film used to do).
Through the use of non-destructive software, the RAW file then has my edits applied. Tone curve adjustment, colour balance, contrast, hue, saturation and luminance adjustments, grain and sharpening are all applied.
Each image may then be adjusted slightly for exposure and some parts of an image may be selectively brightened or darkened to give a desired effect.
These edits give the image my stylised ‘look’, and are applied to the final Jpeg images that I upload to your gallery. This is all time spent, after the wedding day, that is included in my package fee. This is what I consider to be ‘editing’.
‘Retouching’ is a different task. It is where specific parts of an image are modified in fine detail. There can be many small parts of an image that can be retouched if we had no limit on time and money.
Effects like skin smoothing and blemish removal, object removal and sky replacement are all image modification processes that I consider to be ‘retouching’.
Retouching is not included in my package fee however, I do make exceptions. For example, if either of the wedding couple develops a pimple that can’t be fully covered by make-up, I will do some blemish reduction work on the feature shots that require it.
Also, there will inevitably be some shots from the day that I will consider to be ‘hero’ shots. These will be chosen by me, and as a part of the editing process I will spend a little more time working on them. 🙂

When will our final images be ready?

Please allow up to 4 weeks, however I can sometimes deliver them sooner.

How long do we have access to our image gallery?

Your image gallery will remain available online for 12 months from the delivery date. Please be sure to download and secure all files, before the 12 month time frame expires.
I recommend that you store your images on two SSD devices and with a ‘cloud’ service for ultimate digital image security. Of course printing your images offers a tangible copy that also preserves your valuable images and memories.
Please note that I will always make sure you have downloaded and secured your images before taking down a gallery. I archive a copy of your wedding images too.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay me via Direct Bank Transfer.
I don't accept Cards, Paypal, Zip Pay or Afterpay.
Payments can be made in instalments.

Do we have to purchase prints or an album from you?

No, not at all. The high resolution images in your gallery can be downloaded to a flash drive and printed at any reputable photo lab.
Though please keep in mind, the print store that is attached to your wedding gallery is fulfilled by my affiliate professional print lab that produces products of the highest standard.

Do you have Image Usage T&C's?

Yes I do but there is nothing out of the ordinary that will limit your general usage. All my T&C’s are considered standard within the wedding industry.

Are you insured? My venue only allows vendors on site that have liability coverage.

Yep. I have $20 million public liability coverage, as well insurance for goods in legal and physical control.

What gear do you use?

I shoot with the latest Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras and Sony G-Master lenses.

What do you wear while you’re shooting a wedding?

I like to dress appropriately for the occasion. No loud colours or patterns; I want to blend in. That said, I also need to be comfortable as the day can be long and there will be pressure-points during the day. I may be up a ladder for the big family group shot or kneeling on the ground to get a creative viewpoint. I wear flat soled, leather dress shoes, dress pants and a long-sleeved dress shirt.
